NBC is adding more horror and gore to its lineup this Fall when it revives Dracula. This British-American version is a reimagining of Bram Stoker's classic Dracula novel. The show begins with Dracula arriving in London as an American entrepreneur introducing modern science to the Victorian society. His real motive, however, is vengeance against those who betrayed him centuries earlier. Jonathan Rhys Meyers, mostly recently seen in The Tudors, will portray the legendary vampire.
NBC has experienced success with horror and thriller dramas, first with Grimm and then last year's sleeper hit Hannibal. Dracula will be paired with Grimm on the network's Thank Grimm It's Friday lineup.
Dracula is scheduled to premiere October 25.
