WINTER 2014: TNT CANCELS 'MOB CITY'

It appears that the mob doesn't rule television.

TNT has cancelled Mob City due to low ratings and small viewership. The television event was originally planned to last three weeks, with a total of six hours. There was speculation that the show could have continued if the numbers pleased the network. Well that failed and Mob City will fade to black.

Based on the adaptation of L.A. Noir: The Struggle for the Soul of America's Most Seductive City, the limited series was a follow-up for Frank Darabont, who had departed The Walking Dead after developing and executive producing the first season.

FALL 2013: TNT UNVEILS 'MOB CITY'

TNT has also jumped on the promo bandwagon today by releasing a first look trailer of its upcoming mob drama, Mob City.

Set in 1940s, Mob City is based on John Buntin's novel, L.A. Noir: The Struggle for the Soul of America's Most Seductive City. The plot focuses on the long-running conflict between the Los Angeles Police Department and the city's criminal world, which is heavily assisted by the police corruption. Jon Bernthal of The Walking Dead fame stars as an ex-Marine turned cop whose mission is to crack down on the increasing corruption and take down the crime world's top leader.

Mob City is scheduled to premiere on December 4.
