ABC has revealed the Season 3 promo for its vengeance fueled drama Revenge. The tidbits in the 30-second promo shows a little bit of everybody -- Emily getting shot several times, Nolan parachuting into a party, and Conrad keeling over.
New showrunner Sunil Nayar has indicated over the hiatus that Revenge would be getting back to its basics, especially after that disastrous sophmore season. First thing that's being wiped out: No more Initiative. The complicated, and at times absurd, roller coaster of last season threw off many viewers and it appeared that Emily's revenge was off-track (We just missed the red Sharpie last season). There were too many twists and turns with little to invest in, and let's face facts, Consortiums/Cartels/Initiatives are usually messy storyline-wise (Paging Falcon Crest!). We definitely are looking forward to the Revenge of yesteryear.
Nayar also mentioned that the quadrangle featuring Emily and her men will be reduced to a triangle, as her heart will be torn for only two of them. Looks like Danny boy will be getting the shaft. Additionally, casting changes afoot brings promising new direction. Smallville's Justin Hartley joins the show as Victoria's long-lost son while Ashley Madekwe has been dropped as a series regular and will recur for the third season. Will Ashley Davenport meet a grisly demise? Considering its Revenge, we pretty much know the odds.
Revenge returns September 29 on ABC.
