WINTER 2014: COULD 'PUSHING DAISIES' RISE FROM THE DEAD AND ONTO THE STAGE?

Is Pushing Daisies making a comeback? Well one former star sure hopes so.

Pushing Daisies aired on ABC from 2007 to 2009 and while it was a critically-acclaimed hit and cult favorite, the show suffered from low ratings and the 2007-2008 Writers Guild of America strike. Well flashforward almost five years and buzz is hitting the internet that Pushing Daisies could be revived as a stage musical.

The show's creator, Bryan Fuller, has been in talks with director Barry Sonnenfeld and Warner Brothers Studio about a possible stage or movie musical. And he has also been discussing some sort of revival with former star and Broadway vet Kristin Chenoweth, who portrayed "Pie Hole" waitress Olive Snook. Fuller would ideally love to center the revival around Chenoweth's Olive but much of it would depend on how many original cast members would return to the project.

While a television revival would certainly be appealing to long-time fans of this Cancelled-Too-Soon show, staging a musical production would give Pushing Daisies a new perspective, take the characters and storytelling in an updated direction, and utilize the talent of stage actors Chenoweth, Lee Pace, and Ellen Greene, just to name a few.

WINTER 2014: ELLEN POMPEO, PATRICK DEMPSEY SIGN ON FOR MORE 'GREY'S ANATOMY'

It was touch-and-go this past fall with renegotiation rumors but Grey's Anatomy fans can breathe a sigh of relief. Meredith and Derek are not going anywhere, anytime soon.

Original cast members Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey have signed new two-year deals that will keep the couple on the show through Season 12. Of course ABC has only renewed Grey's through the end of this current season but with these new deals in place, it definitely is an incentive to keep the medical drama going.

Other original cast members Justin Chambers, Chandra Wilson, and James Pickens, Jr., as well as Sara Ramirez, have yet to renew their contracts which expire at the end of this season. As reported earlier this fall, Sandra Oh is departing the show in May.

SPRING 2014: 'ONCE UPON A TIME' PLANNING TO KILL OFF A SERIES REGULAR

ABC's Once Upon a Time is enjoying a lengthy winter break (new episodes return March 9) but that hasn't stopped the show's creators from dropping hints on the season finale.

Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis have revealed that a major character will be killed off during the second half of this season. Now before you say to yourself "Oh they always kill off a character who comes back to life thanks to magic," let us say clearly that this character will be dead and done. According to the creators, the upcoming death will result in the exit of a series regular and right now everyone is a candidate.

Personally, Stay Tuned believes that the character to bite the dust will be Neal/Baelfire since the show has little to lose writing him off. A part of us, however, is pulling for Henry to be the victim. It would definitely spark a new conflict between the recently peaceful group of frenemies, and let's be honest, Henry Jared Gilmore is getting older and awkward and that just isn't cute when a tween fantasizes about fairy tales.

WINTER 2014: ABC'S 'THE ASSETS' IS HISTORY...AFTER ONLY 2 EPISODES

The Assets is history.

ABC has pulled (as expected) the low-rated Cold War drama after only two episodes. It premiered last week to disastrous ratings and continued the downward trend this past Thursday. The Assets was supposed to be an eight-episode miniseries to fill the void while Scandal takes a hiatus. The network, however, was not so thrilled with the less than 3 million viewers at the 10:00 PM slot.

ABC will air repeats of Shark Tank in its place. No word yet on when, or if, the network plans to burn the remaining six episodes later in the year.

WINTER 2014: 'MODERN FAMILY' IS HEADING TO AUSTRALIA

The Pritchetts and Dunphys are going on another vacation this season, and this time it is the Land Down Under, Australia.

In partnership with Qantas Airlines, the ABC comedy will fly down its cast, crew, and showrunner for two weeks in February to shoot the vacation episode that will be aired later this season. Previous seasons of Modern Family has seen the complex family vacation in Hawaii and Wyoming.

No details have been given on what event spearheads this latest excursion but showrunner Steve Levitan assures that the typical Australian things like a kangaroo, koala, and boomerang, and much more will be highlighted in the episode.

WINTER 2014: PALEYFEST 2014 SCHEDULES 'LOST' 10TH ANNIVERSARY REUNION

The cast of Lost are preparing to reunite for one night in what is being touted as a 10th Anniversary Reunion. The much anticipated reunion will take place at PaleyFest 2014, a two-week celebration of television right in the heart of Hollywood. This year's event, which is organized by The Paley Center for Media, will take place at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland.

The Lost panel will take place on Sunday, March 16. No participants have been named yet but it is expected to be revealed in the next few weeks.

Lost premiered September 22, 2004 on ABC and became an international phenomenon lasting for six seasons and 121 episodes.

WINTER 2014: 'ONCE UPON A TIME' CASTS 'LOST' STAR AS OZ'S WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST

Several weeks ago, news broke that former Lost star Rebecca Mader was joining the fantasy drama, Once Upon a Time. Well the preview at the end of last night's fall finale gave us a glimpse of her character.

Now that the Peter Pan saga of the first half of the season has come to a close (for now), the show will shift focus to a new baddie for the second half. Apart from dealing with the heartbreaking farewells and the inevitable time jump...c'mon now let's face it, you had to know that it was coming! Walt Henry isn't a little kid anymore and they need something to accommodate Jared Gilmore's aging...the Storybrooke bunch will have to deal with the Wicked Witch of the West. Yes, that Wicked Witch from The Wizard of Oz.

Once Upon a Time hinted upon a connection to the world of Oz waaaaay back in the first season's Mad Hatter episode, "Hat Trick." The green curtain with the patent initials of Oz was seen in the lobby of portals. No details have been given about the character but we'll bet that she'll give Regina, the Evil Queen, a run for her money.

The ABC drama returns March 9, and interestingly the March 16 episode is aptly titled "Witch Hunt."

WINTER 2014: 'REVENGE' CASTS GAIL O'GRADY AS CONRAD'S FIRST WIFE

ABC's Revenge is about to become a little bit more dramatic...devious, dirty, soapy...in the next couple of episodes with the impending arrival of Blake Carrington's Conrad Grayson's first wife.

Gail O'Grady, who had notable roles on NYPD Blue and American Dreams, has been cast as the first ex-Mrs. Grayson. Details are mum about the character, including her name, but she'll come rolling into the Hamptons by the show's 13th episode, which is scheduled for January 19, 2014. The character's unexpected arrival will take Conrad and Victoria, the current Mrs. Grayson, by surprise and Revenge's showrunner teases that the ex-Mrs. Grayson will bring many secrets and bombshells.

WINTER 2014: ABC TRIMS 'SCANDAL'S CURRENT SEASON TO 18 EPISODES

ABC's Scandal has been full of on-the-edge drama this season and with the fall finale airing later this week, we've got news that the Gladiators team will be taking an early summer vacation in 2014.

Due to Kerry Washington's pregnancy, and the show's decision not to incorporate it into the current storylines, ABC has cut Scandal's episode order this season from 22 to 18. The actress' spring due date would make filming of the final four episodes nearly impossible. Producers considered shooting the final four without Washington but knew that they couldn't have Olivia Pope absent and off the canvas for such a long period of time. Expect a lot of close-up shots, heavy overcoats, and Olivia sitting or standing behind furniture as the episodes progress.

The remaining eight episodes of the season will begin on February 27, 2014.

FALL 2013: 'SCANDAL' CASTS KHANDI ALEXANDER AS OLIVIA'S DEAD MAMA

Scandal is bringing Olivia Pope's mama to the small screen.

The ABC drama has cast Khandi Alexander in the recurring role of Maya Lewis, Olivia's late mother. The character will appear in flashbacks starting with this Thursday's episode, and if Scandal fans recall last week, things were put in motion regarding mama Maya's ties to Operation Remington.

FALL 2013: 'MARVEL'S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D' PLANS 'THOR' CROSSOVER

Marvel really wants box office success when Thor: The Dark World hits the big screen on November 8.

It's been announced that ABC's superhero powerhouse Marvel's Agents of SHIELD will crossover with the Thor sequel two weeks after the movie premieres. Now before you get your hopes up, don't expect Thor or any of the other movie characters to appear on the television show in the November 19 episode. The Agents of SHIELD episode will deal directly with the fallout of the movie's plot which potentially "threatens to destroy a member of the team."

Now time to speculate. The November 19 episode is titled "The Well." Could this be a reference to Agent Coulson's miraculous return to the living after the events of The Avengers? We can't say for sure that anything relating to Coulson will be mentioned in the new Thor movie but since it is the first Marvel movie to premiere since The Avengers, one would expect some kind of explanation even if its after the end credits. One thing's for sure, whatever happened to Coulson in Tahiti will be slowly revealed in the show's freshman season.

FALL 2013: ABC ORDERS MORE 'GOLDBERGS' 'TROPHY WIFE' 'SUPER FUN NIGHT'; CANCELS 'BACK IN THE GAME'

ABC is finally making some decisions on its new comedies, and boy do they look desperate!

The alphabet network has given full-season orders to The Goldbergs and Trophy Wife. The greenlight request for additional episodes would bring each show to 22 episodes. While not necessarily out-of-the-ballpark hits, ABC seems to have been pleased with the ratings. How else could we explain the network's sudden vote of confidence?

Meanwhile, ABC is really desperately rooting for Rebel Wilson. An additional four episodes have been ordered for Super Fun Night. The new comedy hasn't proven to be ratings gold in spite of the heavy promos focusing on the plus-size popular Australian actress. Aside from a botched pilot episode and poor quality scripts, Super Fun Night has been slammed by critics. ABC, however, still has faith that Rebel Wilson will draw in more viewers. We'll see what happens with this comedy but keep the life-support machine plugged in.

The network has benched the freshman family comedy Back in the Game...permanently. The baseball-themed comedy starring Maggie Lawson has been cancelled. But don't fret fans, ABC will finish airing whatever remains of the show's 13 episodes. Back in the Game was semi-decent, compared to some of the other shows mentioned above, but just couldn't find its footing.

FALL 2013: KERRY WASHINGTON ANNOUNCES PREGNANCY; WHAT ABOUT OLIVIA POPE?

Could a baby storyline surface in the near future for ABC's political drama Scandal?

News broke that actress Kerry Washington and new husband Nnamdi Asomugha are expecting their first child. According to a source, Washington is about four months pregnant. Since several months remain for the taping and production of Scandal, many insiders are wondering if the show will take advantage of Washington's pregnancy and incorporate it to her alter-ego, Olivia Pope. Now that the President's affair has been exposed, it would only be naturally dramatic to have a "Who's your Daddy?" storyline.

It'll be interesting to see what the show plans to do with this news but definitely expect a pregnant Olivia Pope waddling in Prada or a ton of shots of Kerry Washington standing behind a piece of furniture. Congratulations to the expecting parents!

FALL 2013: WILL ABC RESURRECT 'BODY OF PROOF'?

Is ABC considering bringing Body of Proof back from the dead?

Could be.

The network's new fall dramas have been struggling to find an audience. Lucky 7 has already been canceled, Betrayal is not long for this world, and Once Upon a Time in Wonderland has been a major letdown. Meanwhile, Marvel's Agents of SHIELD is the only drama to be picked up for a full season, and even that show is tanking every week.

Talks of reviving the Dana Delany medical drama began at the start of the fall season, after it was written off at the conclusion of the third season. If ABC goes through with the move, Body of Proof will resume with its fourth season. The big question, however, is who would return to the drama? Some actors have already moved on with other commitments and projects, and most likely the show would have a reduced budget that couldn't accommodate all of its previous cast. 

While the return is only at the talking stages, we definitely know that if Dana Delany doesn't return, viewers won't return to Body of Proof. Might as well just re-name it D.O.A.

FALL 2013: 'ONCE UPON A TIME IN WONDERLAND' WILL GET A LITTLE WHOOPI

ABC's struggling spin-off is getting some additional star power. Mr. Rabbit is about to get some major Whoopi.

Actress and current co-host of The View, Whoopi Goldberg, has signed up to guest-voice Mrs. Rabbit on Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. The furry missus will appear in the current storyline and flashbacks in the show's eighth episode. Goldberg will star opposite series regular John Lithgow (Third Rock from the Sun and Dexter baddie). We expect some sass and backtalk from Mr. Rabbit's significant other.

Once Upon a Time in Wonderland airs Thursdays at 8 pm on ABC.

FALL 2013: ABC CANCELS 'LUCKY 7' AFTER TWO EPISODES

The fall 2013 television season has crowned its first casualty: ABC's Lucky 7.

The lottery-themed drama that focused on co-workers winning the jackpot didn't score any winnings with audiences. Lucky 7 was up against some tough opponents in the 10 pm time slot, Tuesday nights. This past Tuesday was the show's second episode and viewership dropped 50 percent from its premiere last week. In other words, most who watched the unlucky drama disliked it so much that they didn't bother returning for a second helping. 

Network television hasn't had much luck with lottery-themed dramas. The last one to air prior to Lucky 7 was NBC's Windfall. The Luke Perry-led drama only lasted for 13 episodes after numerous pre-emptions and shifting around led to its cancellation. Guess America doesn't really care to watch regular joes winning millions and suffering everyday problems.

ABC will air Scandal recaps effective immediately, and production on the set will shut down by next week.

FALL 2013: ABC PICKS UP MORE 'MISTRESSES'

Fans of ABC's summer sizzler Mistresses will be excited to hear that the network has renewed the drama for a second season. The first season recently concluded with several cliffhangers leaving various characters in a lurch. The Alyssa Milano vehicle has maintained stable ratings throughout the summer and has revitalized interest in the primetime soap genre. No word on exactly when the second season will commence but expect all four main players to return.

FALL 2013: FOX ORDERS SERIES BASED ON DC COMICS COMMISSIONER GORDON

On the heels of the series premiere of ABC's Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (literally on the same day the new comics-book based series aired), FOX has ordered straight to series Gotham, a drama based on the DC Comics character Commissioner James Gordon. Umm yeah, the one from the Batman universe. Don't expect to see any glimpses of the Dark Knight though. Gotham will explore the origins stories of both Commissioner Gordon and the villains that made Gotham City into the metropolis we have grown to love.

NEW RELEASE TUESDAY: SUPERHEROES, MONSTERS, AND DUELING DIVAS

With the start of the fall television season this week, we almost forgot that today is New Release Tuesday. We'll highlight some of the TV-on-DVD releases hitting shelves today.

Superhero Pick-of-the-Week

Arrow - The Complete First Season (BD/DVD)

Filling the gap left by the departure of Smallville, Arrow tells the story of Oliver Queen, his life on a stranded island for five years, and ultimately his evolution to the superhero based on The Green Arrow. Ollie Queen is definitely unique since there is nothing super about his hero persona. Having no special powers or abilities, Arrow is a vigilante by night trying to salvage Starling City from the wrongs of his father. The freshman season establishes the story and cautiously dips into the DC Comics universe, setting it up for the new sophmore season.

Horror Pick-of-the-Week

Grimm - Season 2 (BD/DVD)

NBC's fantasy horror fest Grimm really broke away from the original premise and formed its own shell in the second season. Moving away from direct references to the Grimm Fairy Tales that we have known since childhood, and some that were completely obscure, Grimm delves further into the realms of evil supernatural forces when an ultimate plan to rule the world is revealed. Nick continues hunting down the wicked in Portland while struggling in his home life. Truths, revelations, and bigger baddies were just a few highlights of the sophmore drama.

Nashville - The Complete First Season

ABC brought back the primetime soap with Nashville last season. Well, sort of. The drama centers around the veteran and newbie country music divas as they try to keep their careers afloat while watching their personal lives crumble before their very eyes. Lots of singing, sex, drinking, and fighting marked the rookie season, and leading to the explosive season finale that left the fate of several characters up in the air.

Crime Pick-of-the-Week

The Mentalist - The Complete Fifth Season

The Mentalist is one of those shows picked up during the height of the medium-crime fighter dramas that has remained one of CBS' stable staples. Fans of the show will want to catch up with the fifth season since the "Red John" killer is slated to reach its apex during the upcoming fall season. It's also the last season that will feature Agents Rigsby and Van Pelt in a full-time capacity before they are written off later this year.

Canceled-Too-Soon Pick-of-the-Week

Vegas - The DVD Edition

The short-lived period drama Vegas premiered on CBS with decent ratings and positive reviews. The 1960s drama that focused on the battle between a Las Vegas sheriff and a Chicago mobster slowly fizzled as it progressed through the year, and after being moved around in several time slots, the show was completely scrapped. Fans of the show can own the collection which pits good versus evil at the heart of America's Sin City. (Sidenote: Stay Tuned is curious about the use of the phrase "The DVD Edition" instead of "The Complete Series." That only tells us that CBS and Paramount have edited the series from the original broadcasting. The culprit most likely would be music rights).

The Marlon Copeland Pick-of-the-Week

Adventure Time - Volume 5: Jake the Dad

Fraternity brother Marlon Copeland swears up and down that Adventure Time is one of the best animated shows currently airing on Cartoon Network. He would be excited about this Jake and Dad set. Fans of the show, like Marlon, don't need much information about the DVD set. They'll just purchase it.

FALL 2013: IGGY POP SIGNS UP FOR 'OUAT: WONDERLAND'

ABC's fantasy spin-off Once Upon a Time in Wonderland has recast a pivotal role in the realm of Wonderland.

The voice of the hookah-smoking Caterpillar has been recast for the spin-off Wonderland version. Fans may recall that Once Upon a Time traveled to Wonderland and came across The Caterpillar, who was voiced by The Who's Roger Daltrey. Well due to scheduling conflicts and unavailability, Daltrey is out as the voice of the blue caterpillar. His replacement comes in the form of another musical icon, punk rocker Iggy Pop.

No word on when Iggy Pop begins his run on the fantasy drama. Once Upon a Time in Wonderland is set to premiere on October 10.
