NEW RELEASE TUESDAY: COMEDY, CANNIBAL, AND CARTOONS!

TV-on-DVD releases for September 24, 2013.

Comedy Pick-of-the-Week

Modern Family - The Complete Fourth Season (BD/DVD)

This year's Emmy-winning outstanding comedy releases its fourth season on Blu-ray and DVD. The Pritchett and Dunphy clan continue their ever-evolving lives as they welcome a new member into the family. The kids, both young and old, continue to grow and learn life's lessons when it comes to family. Modern Family fans will definitely want to pick up a copy for their collection.

Thriller Pick-of-the-Week

Hannibal - Season 1 (BD/DVD)

The delicious (see what we did there...) psychological thriller based on elements from the novel Red Dragon focuses on the relationship between FBI investigator Will Graham and Dr. Hannibal Lecter. Primarily a prologue before the events of the Hannibal movies, the TV tale begins the set up for Graham and Hannibal's ultimate showdown as the good doctor pushes the investigator over the edge.

Animation Domination Picks-of-the-Week

Family Guy - Volume 11

American Dad - Volume 8

FOX's animated hits from Seth MacFarlane get releases this week. The Griffin family continue all the zaniness and shenanigans in Quahog, meanwhile the Smith family lives through similar adventures in fictional Langley Falls, Virginia. Both shows are showing their age with recycled gags and stories, ultimately receiving mixed reviews for the season.

Retro Pick-of-the-Week

The Mod Squad - Season 3, Volume 1 & 2

The Mod Squad was the hippest show during the '70s. Well it was one of the hippest shows. The Aaron Spelling police drama followed former juvenile delinquents Linc, Pete, and Julie acting as undercover cops in order to avoid jail time for their crimes. The hippie threesome investigated socially relevant issues and crimes of the time. Most notably, The Mod Squad succeeded in breaking through the color lines and generation gap.

Kid (or Kid-at-Heart) Pick-of-the-Week

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers - Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers

In 1996, the Alien Rangers premiered as a 10-episode mini-series at the end of the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers run. The Alien Rangers from Aquitar were called in to help the Power Rangers, who had lost their powers. The mini-series was used to bridge the new direction of the show, which was becoming Power Rangers: Zeo.
