TGIF: 'SHARKNADO' SEQUEL TITLE REVEALED
Friday wouldn't be complete without some cheesy TV movie news, especially for a movie involving killer sharks, right? Well Stay Tuned has finally pinned down what the title of the Sharknado sequel is going to be and it's a doozy!
Are you sitting down? The title for the shark-infested sequel is...Sharknado 2: The Second One. Really creative, huh? Yeah we felt the same way but what more can you expect from Syfy. The sequel will be set in New York City and is due to hit the airwaves in July 2014.
While you wait for the much anticipated sequel, another shark-themed gore fest will be on Syfy soon. Revisit our Ghost Shark post.

WACKY WEDNESDAY: SYFY PREPARES ANOTHER SHARK THRILLER!
If you thought Sharknado was horrifically
"If you're wet, you're dead"...that's the tagline for Syfy's newest movie. So what the hell is exactly a ghost shark? Well the premise of the new shark thriller is that a great white shark (we'll call him Jabberjaw just for kicks) is hunted, tortured, and killed by a fisherman. Unfortunately for him, and the entire human race, Jabberjaw returns from the dead and gets revenge on all humans. Yeah basically the shark becomes the Freddy Krueger of the waterworld. The dead shark can appear in basically anything that has water, and from the looks of the trailer, that includes the ocean, pool, bathtub, car wash, and slip-n-slides. Hell, we're pretty sure the ghost shark can pop up in your toilet and gobble you up while handling your business.
Ghost Shark stars Mackenzie Rosman (remember little Ruthie Camden from 7th Heaven?...we won't even start on her Maxim spread that came out) and Richard Moll (Bull from Night Court). Ghost Shark is scheduled to premiere on August 22 as part of Syfy's month of original movies. We think the network is aiming to break its recent Twitter record when Sharknado originally aired.

SHARKNADO 2...REVENGE OF THE SHARKS? UPDATE!
Syfy's Sharknado premiered five nights ago and attracted 1.4 million viewers, which is not too shabby a number for a cheesy original TV movie. The real success, however, was in social media as the movie garnered more than 5,000 tweets per minute. That is more tweets than any other popular show currently on air has received. Now that Sharknado set some records and continues bringing in viewers through repeats, there is talk that a sequel is in the works.
Actress Tara Reid is reportedly interested in reprising her role and Ian Ziering recently told Extra that a sequel must be made. Reports also indicate that the movie's writer is also on-board in the sequel talks. So a Sharknado 2 may be on its way to the small screen. But what would cause the return of the sharks? Sharkquake? Sharknami? Or will there be a new locale, possibly Florida? Sharkicane anyone?
Update 7/17/13:
The Sharknado sequel has been confirmed by Syfy. With a tentative premiere date for 2014, the setting of the shark-fest sequel will take place in New York. No further word if Tara Reid or Ian Ziering will be reprising their roles. Sharks in New York? We wonder if a perfect storm, or hurricane, will wash the sharks ashore the Big Apple.

SHARKNADO!
Sharknado is Syfy's latest original movie premiering July 11 at 9pm. The title alone pretty much sums up what this disaster flick is about but just in case you don't, we'll break it down for you. A tornado full of sharks attacks a city and kills a bunch of people. There you go. It really is that simple.
Ok we'll give you a little more detail about Sharknado. It appears that super tornadoes form out on the Pacific Ocean and suck up a bunch of sharks from the ocean floor. These tornadoes soon travel inland to where else? Greater Los Angeles! Gee, LA always gets the shaft when it comes to disaster movies. I mean from Earthquake to Sharknado, the city just can't get a break. Well the Syfy flick stars Tara Reid (Now we know where's she been hiding) and Beverly Hills 90210's Ian Ziering (Now we understand why he started working with the Chippendales in Las Vegas).
Check out the trailer below and we hope you will check out this latest sci-fi TV movie.
One thing's for certain, it definitely gives a new perspective on Shark Week. Happy viewing and remember to Stay Tuned for future updates!
